A pos operator in calabar cries out while alleging that task force agents working for the government of cross river state invaded his Business premises and made away with monies meant for his POS BUSINESS
The ugly event occured on 31th of January 2024 by 1:23PM
The pos operator known as MR EMMANUEL BASSEY while talking to newsmen expressed his ill feelings over the injustice meted on him by a team of task force who had no legal means of Identification (UNIFORM AND ID CARD) likewise came in a private car without any Security agents attached to them.
The members of the TASK FORCE were suspected to come from the CRS Ministry Of Environment led by Mr. Francis Cobham Ekpo Bassey, a director with the CUDA. while claiming to be working under the directives of Barr. Ekpenyong Akiba (S.A to the Governor on Special duties)
While expressing his ordeal to the media, Mr Emmanuel alleges that the task force agents who were not on uniform or ID card forcefully made way into his Business premises, harassed and brutalized his staff, carting away with his business money and other valuables
According to Emmanuel, Neighbors and passerby who witnessed the incident on approaching to inquire what was happening, Mr Francis Cobham aka Ette iwat claimed his workers had defaulted the Governor’s order.
When his staff demanded for the refund of money and valuables packed by this team, Ette Iwat and his team started beating and forcefully pushed the boys into his private car he stated
In the process of the whole ranchor, a young police officer had to intervene having witnessed the level if brutality abd inhumanity who also on the innocent people likewise took the injured staff to Atakpa police station for Safety.
According to Mr Emmanuel, the task force leader Mr. Francis Cobham later met the police and accused his staff of destroying his car windshield which led to the unlawful detention of his staff without medical attention after sustaining several injuries as a result of brutality
Mr. Emmanuel prays His Excellencies Sen. Prince Bassey Otu and his Dear wife, the state executive, legislative, judiciary, Human Right lawyers, Media Houses and cross riverians in general to come to his aid as Mr Francis Cobham has sworn to use government powers to deal with him over nothing
