I was absolutely overjoyed yesterday when a group of scholars from the Central Senatorial District, who recently earned doctoral degrees in various fields at the University of Calabar’s convocation, paid me a visit to express their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation.
Their gesture left me feeling elated and honored, knowing that I had made a positive impact on their academic careers. The visit was a wonderful one, and I felt truly humbled by their thoughtful words and acknowledgements.
To me, quality education forms the bedrock of every thriving society. I firmly believe that investing in knowledge is essential for overall growth and progress. Whenever the opportunity arises, I do not hesitate to lend educational assistance for the pursuit of learning.
I give profound thanks to the Almighty Lord for utilizing me as a vessel to support and guide these exceptional brothers throughout their scholarly journeys. The pursuit of a doctoral program is a daunting task, marked by severe dedication to research and countless sleepless nights. Yet, their unrelenting perseverance and resilience ultimately led to the triumphant completion of their programs.
Let me extend my sincerest gratitude to the Governor of Cross River State, Senator Prince Bassey Otu, for according me this opportunity once again. Under the ‘People’s First’ administration, imparting quality education and producing exceptional graduates remains a priority.
