Empowering Women, Strengthening Communities

In a continued demonstration of grassroots commitment and visionary leadership, Chief Henry Dennis Bassey, in collaboration with the Humanity Without Borders Empowerment Initiative (HUWIB), will host a Capacity Building Programme for female farmers across Abi Local Government Area, Cross River State, from 17th–18th March 2026.

The initiative will cover all council wards in Abi, equipping female farmers with modern agricultural knowledge, improved farming practices, and entrepreneurial skills aimed at enhancing productivity, strengthening food security, and improving rural livelihoods.

The programme is fully supported by Bishop Dr. Mrs. Eyoanwan Bassey Itam Edet Otu, Wife of the Governor of Cross River State, highlighting the importance of empowering women as catalysts for community development.

Through this initiative, Chief Engr. Henry Dennis Bassey once again demonstrates a leadership philosophy rooted in grassroots empowerment, inclusive development, and sustainable economic growth, particularly by investing in the women who play a pivotal role in agriculture and rural prosperity.

Ultimately, empowering female farmers is not only about strengthening agriculture; it is about building resilient communities, expanding economic opportunities, and shaping a more prosperous future for Abi and Cross River State at large.
