OBUBRA APC PEACE AND RECONCILIATION COMMITTEE INAUGURATED TODAY June 30th, 2026.
COMMITTEE CHARGED TO SHOW COMMITMENT AND DILIGENCE …
The Peace and Reconciliation Committee of the All Progressive Congress APC, Obubra Chapter has been inaugurated today, June 30th, 2026, by the Chapter Chairman, Hon Lucky Nicolas Okpechi.
The Committee has Elder John Agbor as Chairman, Bishop Chris Obasse as Alternate Chairman and Lt Col. Francis Oyom (Rtd) as Secretary.
Others are: Mr Dylan Ovat, Hon Agbor Mgbongha, Prof Erena Enang and Prof Friday Ajie Ovat as Members.
Speaking during the inauguration, Hon Lucky Okpechi articulated the committee’s terms of reference to the Members, such as;
1) That the Committee shall interface with aspirants, candidates, party officials, stakeholders and aggrieved party members with a view to identifying the causes of disaffection.
2)Promote dialogue, understanding, forgiveness and reconciliation among all affected parties.
3) Recommend practical measures for strengthening party unity, discipline and cohesion.
4) Encourage all party members to support duly nominated candidates and work towards the overall success of the party in the forthcoming elections.
5) Identify issues capable of undermining party harmony and propose possible solutions.
6) Submit a comprehensive report of its findings, recommendations and resolution to the Party Leadership within 10 days of its inauguration.
7) Perform such other functions as may be necessary for the attainment of peace, unity and reconciliation within the party.
In his remarks therefore, the Executive Chairman of Council, Hon Kingsley Ibon Arikpo, expressed delight over the development, charging the Committee to spring up their actions immediately and ensure greater success in the assignment given them by the party.
The Chairman urged Members to carry out this assignment with fairness, impartiality, integrity and utmost commitment to the unity of All Progressive Congress APC. Hon Kingsley however wished the Committee a hitch free assignment, assuring them of his readiness to support them with whatever may be the requirements to enhance their operations and deliver their mandate timely.
