If performance in public office is measured by visibility, commitment and results, then Hon. Ankpo Pius Edet deserves to be mentioned among the standout commissioners in Governor Bassey Edet Otu’s administration.
He is constantly on the move, visiting project sites, inspecting roads, engaging contractors and following up on the quality of work being delivered across Cross River State.
I have travelled with him on several occasions, and I can confidently say that this man takes his assignment seriously.
Whether it is road rehabilitation, emergency interventions or major infrastructure projects, he understands that the people are not interested in excuses. They want to see action and results.
This is exactly the kind of energy Governor Otu’s People First agenda needs.
You may disagree with the government on several issues, but when an appointee is putting in the work, we should be fair enough to acknowledge it.
For me, Hon. Pius Edet is not just occupying the office of Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, he is working the office and in governance, that difference matters.
