Young people in Cross River State are currently more focused on fighting and competing with each other instead of collaborating for the benefit of all.
Our common enemy is bad governance regardless of political party but just like cancer, party loyalty has eaten too deep into the fabrics of the society which makes it difficult for an average cross riverian to speak the truth when it matters most
Suffice it to say that you don’t have to win always and our views must not be the same but in trying to lend our voices to trending issues we shouldn’t cause harm to any one
Personally, the vandalism of General Hospital by aggrieved UNICROSS protesters, who felt forsaken when their injured colleagues required prompt medical attention, still gets me angry
Nurses and students doctors were beaten up and I have a video where a matron was running for her life and I strongly believe we don’t need to kill innocent people just to make a case
No sane person would be happy that people died likewise smile at the unprofessional conduct of our medical personnel but I tell you the truth that General Hospital is not the first hospital to reject patients and this happens when their facility can’t handle the situation based on it’s severity and I was told the wounded students were also rejected at the UCTH
Our problems is not the hospital but the leaders we vote in every four (4) years that’s supposed to make it work
Suffice it to say that the protesters were supposed to go straight to the Ministry of health or the Governor’s office to lend their Voices but they chose to destroy the general hospital and as well beat up fellow students doctors, nurses and matrons
I hear people say “You don’t beat a child & tell him how to cry” and it’s laughable because destruction of properties has never been the proper way to go
Sadly 99.9% of the protesters would collect rice and 3K to vote their oppressors
Real advocates of change won’t wait till people die before making a move
Like I said earlier, I condemn in totality the unprofessional conduct of general hospital but as comrades and advocates for a better society we should lead by example
May the souls of our fallen comrade rest in peace
