CAN HON NGIM OKPOR WIN OTHER ASPIRANTS IN A DIRECT PRIMARY ELECTION?
Tomorrow will decide the political future of Biase, however, there is a lack of collective conversation by the youths about who should be our representatives and why
Under the tenure of RT Hon Daniel Asuquo in the green chambers, discussions and politics concerning AKAMKPA and BIASE were highly engaging with active participation from both LGAs, but presently, it appears to be a Biase issue
The people of Akamkpa are quietly awaiting their turn to occupy the House of Representatives seat, which affords us the opportunity to make a well-considered decision regarding the future of Biase LGA, unencumbered by sentiment because after 2031 we will need to wait till 2039
The current political dispensation and politicking have evolved significantly compared to previous ones, and it is incumbent upon visionary leaders to keep pace with the changing landscape and avoid reliance on outdated and obsolete political concepts.
Suffice it to say that the electoral act and the changing dynamics of politics in 2026 have substantially altered the modus operandi of political parties and politicians when it comes to who gets the ticket and why
The most recent APC primaries for the AKAMKPA/BIASE House of Representatives, which nominated Hon Emil Inyang as the candidate, was a delegate contest where Hon Ada Charles and Hon Dr Helen Isamoh were reportedly requested to step aside in favor of Hon Dr Emil, even before the purchase of forms, although I stand to be corrected in this analysis.
In a significant development, four (4) Biase aspirants have obtained their forms and passed the party screening, amid whispers of an alleged adoption of Hon Ngim Okpor
I have always emphasized that any adoption or consensus would require the agreement and signed documents from all aspirants; otherwise, it would be an exercise in futility because some aggrieved aspirants may seek redress legally in the competent court of justice
In my prior publication, I urged Hon Ngim to consider conversing with fellow aspirants if the adoption truly adhered to political cum electoral procedures, yet typically in Biase LGA, opinions appear inconsequential to average leaders holding political positions.
You canโt claim to be adopted or the anointed one when the other aspirants are not intandem with the decision but with a proper understanding and conversation you can get a fellow contestant to stand down and support you
In Biase LGA, an aspirant is angry with another aspirant for aspiring for same position with him or her
In Biase LGA, a winner of an election will keep malice with the opponent that he won instead of calling for unity and collaboration
In Biase LGA, A winner of elections will punish people around him for talking with persons that didnโt support him while himself is relating and collecting money from same persons
In Biase LGA, an aspirant will go and collect money from a fellow aspirant and then brag about it in public without dignity and integrity
โ
Hon Emil
โ
Hon Helen Isamoh
โ
Hon PRINCEWILL Ogban
โ
RT Hon Mkpanam Obo
The above listed candidates have been vetted and approved to participate in the forthcoming primary elections, and while I anticipate a competitive process, I am skeptical about the likelihood of any candidate withdrawing.
I feel sorry for the youths of Biase who are more engaged in daily WhatsApp groups โcatching cruiseโ about a sensitive topic like this rather than asserting their influence over our house of reps member selection.
Finally, My dear people of Biase, do you think Hon Ngim Okpor can win his ticket in a direct primaries elections ?
EGWU DANIEL is my name & I write from Government house ๐
